Man Attacked Over Missing Genitals in Senya Bereku

In the Awutu Senya West District of the Central Region, a man, reportedly in his late 30s, faced a brutal beating by a group of motorcycle riders in Senya Bereku. The assault allegedly occurred due to accusations linking him to the disappearance of a colleague rider’s genitals.

The incident unfolded on Tuesday, April 10, around 10:00 PM at Zion C Basic School in Senya Bereku. Approximately 30 individuals armed with welding metals, stones, and sticks raided the victim’s residence, identified as Mr. Isaac Saint. They claimed that a ‘pragya’ driver informed them that his genitals went missing after giving the victim a ride.

Eyewitnesses recounted that the ‘pragya’ driver alleged his genitals vanished shortly after dropping off the victim at his home. Despite any pleas for mercy, the victim endured a savage assault with various objects including metals, sticks, and stones, at the hands of the enraged group.

The witness described a harrowing scene where blood was seen flowing from the victim’s nostrils, head, and other parts of his body. They also recounted how the victim was vomiting before the police intervened to rescue him.

Following the incident, the Senya Bereku police accompanied the complainant to the Senya polyclinic for a medical examination. Surprisingly, the examination revealed that the complainant’s penis was still intact, contradicting the earlier claims.

The complainant informed the police that he had sought help from a spiritual healer at the Jehovah El Shaddhai 7th Day Sabbath Assembly in Senya, who prayed for him.

After the medical examination, the police took action by arresting both the complainant and the spiritual healer. Currently, they are in police custody, while the victim receives treatment at the Winneba Specialist and Trauma Hospital.

When the GNA reporters went to the church, some individuals asserted that the complainant arrived at the prayer grounds with a shrunken penis. They claimed that the pastor prayed for him, emphasizing the innocence of the pastor.

However, when the GNA followed up at the Senya polyclinic, Dr. Samuel Agyapong, the Acting Medical Superintendent, informed them that the man did indeed visit the facility. After conducting an examination, it became evident that the information provided was incorrect.

Dr. Agyapong advised the public against hastily resorting to violence based solely on allegations. Instead, he stressed the importance of verifying such claims through medical examinations before taking any action.
