In a process to sell defender Joao Cancelo, Manchester City and Al-Hilal of the Saudi Pro League have reached a £21.2 million agreement.
Although Cancelo has not yet approved the transfer, personal terms are not anticipated to be an issue.
Should he sign, the 30-year-old’s five-year tenure at Etihad Stadium come to a conclusion with a three-year deal.
Cancelo may return to action for the team this month, according to City boss Pep Guardiola.
But Cancelo’s argument, which resulted in him spending the last eighteen months on loan at Bayern Munich and Barcelona, was always going to be a big problem.
Cancelo has missed City’s first two Premier League games of the current season.
He was also absent from the Community Shield match against Manchester United due to the absence of other City players who had competed in the European Championship in Germany.
The Portugal defender was initially Guardiola’s first inverted full-back, but he was benched a few months after agreeing to a new deal in 2022.
