Erling Haaland’s two goals brought Manchester City closer to winning an unprecedented fourth consecutive Premier League title after a tough 2-0 victory against Tottenham.
Haaland scored twice in the second half at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, allowing Pep Guardiola’s team to move ahead of Arsenal and take a two-point lead at the top of the table going into the last day of the season.
In a quiet first half with few chances, goalkeepers from both sides, Rodrigo Bentancur and Phil Foden, made crucial saves.
Following the interval, Manchester City appeared more determined, and two minutes into the second half, Guglielmo Vicario made an incredible reflex stop to deny Kevin De Bruyne’s hard shot.
However, the Italian goalkeeper could do nothing as the visitors scored four minutes later. De Bruyne played a key role once again, making a perfectly timed run to receive Bernardo Silva’s pass and setting up an easy tap-in for the unmarked Haaland.
With just four minutes left, Spurs missed a golden opportunity to equalize. Brennan Johnson intercepted Manuel Akanji’s mistake and passed to Heung-Min Son, but his weak shot was blocked by Stefan Ortega.
The substitute goalkeeper’s crucial save helped City secure the win in stoppage time. Haaland confidently scored a penalty into the top corner after Jeremy Doku was fouled by Pedro Porro.
