Manchester United Retains Erik ten Hag As Manager

ESPN has been informed by a source that Erik ten Hag will remain manager of Manchester United.

The Dutchman’s Premier League campaign was disappointing, raising questions about his future.

However, the season came to a successful conclusion when United defeated rivals Manchester City in the FA Cup. As a result of an end-of-season evaluation headed by Sir Dave Brailsford and carried out by new co-owners INEOS, Ten Hag will remain on the team.

Ten Hag should continue as manager, according to a source who spoke with ESPN, who called the review’s “clear conclusion” apparent.

Ten Hag and United are reportedly going to talk about extending his contract, which was scheduled to expire in 2025, following “constructive discussions” regarding the review’s conclusions.

His performances with the club

The 54-year-old Ten Hag had a great debut season in charge at Old Trafford, leading the team to third place in the Premier League and the Carabao Cup.

But following a terrible season in the league and in Europe, his second season was only salvaged by winning the FA Cup.

United’s lowest-ever Premier League finish came in ninth place in the standings. They also left Europe before Christmas, finishing last in their Champions League group.

After the FA Cup final at Wembley, Ten Hag faced significant questioning about his future, but he remained stubborn, saying, “If they [United’s owners] don’t want me, then I go somewhere else to win trophies because that is what I do.” Ten Hag has often stated that injuries are to blame for poor results.

After winning 2-1 over Manchester City at Wembley to win his second trophy in as many seasons, Ten Hag has been vacationing in Ibiza.

He is anticipated to return to Carrington in July for the commencement of preseason training, having at last got assurance that he will remain in his position. On July 15, United plays a match against Rosenborg in Norway to kick off their summer campaign.
