Mark Zuckerberg Beats Jeff Bezos To Become World’s Second Richest Person.
Meta co-founder Mark Zuckerberg became the world’s second-richest person on Friday, surpassing Jeff Bezos after Meta shares rose over 5% this week.
Key Points:
Zuckerberg’s net worth hit $205.4 billion, surpassing Bezos’ $203.9 billion.
He is close to overtaking Larry Ellison ($208 billion) but remains behind Elon Musk ($264 billion).
Meta’s stock closed at $595.94 on Friday, up from $567.15 at the start of the week.
This week, Zuckerberg’s net worth achieved many significant milestones. On Thursday, it crossed the $200 billion threshold, making history as the first time four billionaires with a net worth of at least $200 billion were listed on Forbes’ billionaire list.
The increase in net wealth also made Zuckerberg’s return to the third rank possible, where he was before taking over from LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault twice in August.
Because of Meta’s success, Zuckerberg’s net worth is mostly derived from his ownership of 345 Class A and B shares, or around 13% of the firm. Since January, when they were trading at $346.29, Meta shares have increased by more than 68%.
