At Sewua in the Ashanti area, a two-story building that Kwaku Gyemfi, a mason in his early forties, was working on collapsed on top of him.
Leading constructor Kwaku Gyemfi was at work on the site, assisting his colleague.
On Wednesday, July 17, 2024, the deceased reportedly went to the location to build new pillars to support some that were crumbling and areas of the building that had cracks in them.
While he was working, his helper informed him that a portion of the building was coming toward him; sadly, Kwaku Gyemfi was trapped when the building collapsed on top of him.
Prince Kwame Adutwum, the local assemblyman, verified this regrettable incidence.
He said that the body had been located and brought to the morgue.
