Mbappe Down With Thigh Injury

Kylian Mbappe, a forward for Real Madrid, may miss some time due to a thigh injury.

The France international, whose contract with Paris St-Germain expired in the summer, scored Tuesday in a 3-2 victory over Deportivo Alaves before being replaced after 80 minutes.

“He’s fine – a little overloaded,” Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti remarked following the match. In order to prevent issues, he requested me for the change.

Wednesday’s update from Madrid stated that the 25-year-old “has been diagnosed with an injury to the biceps femoris in his left leg” and that “his progress will be monitored” after “following tests.”

Before the October international break, Real Madrid plays away at Atletico Madrid in a league match on Sunday. After that, they play Villarreal in the Spanish top flight and Lille in the Champions League.

Prior to his injury, Mbappe had six goals in seven appearances for the Bernabeu team.
