On Friday, September 20, a federal legislator and the husband of actress Mercy Johnson barely avoided an attempted murder at his Uromi home.
Michael Ihaza, Prince Henry Odianosen Okojie’s media assistant, released a statement in which he claimed that armed persons, maybe dressed as police personnel, carried out the attack.
The attackers tried to break into Okojie’s house by claiming to have an appointment, but the legislator’s security detail stopped them.
Officers from the Nigeria Police Force’s Uromi Area Command have detained and are questioning the driver and another accomplice, while two of the attackers were able to escape the scene.
According to reports, the apprehended suspects said that they were sent to kill him by PDP local leaders in the Esan North East Local Government Area.
Law enforcement is looking into the event and trying to find the people who did it.
