Mob Lynches And Burns Suspected Serial Killer In Adum-Dominase.

In Adum-Dominase, a small farming town in the Mpohor Fiase District, a vengeful mob is said to have murdered and burned Joseph Ankomah, also known as “Uncle J,” a suspected serial killer.

On Thursday, December 19, 2024, the incident took place in response to claims of ritual killings.

The death of Diana Asante, a 22-year-old mobile money dealer who vanished on December 17, 2024, is said to have set off the mob’s operations. Three days later, Diana’s lifeless body was found in a small tunnel close to the town hall shed following a thorough search by the local community. A bedspread was used to cover the body.

The young person recognized the bedspread and linked it to Joseph Ankomah, a well-known local mortician and food vendor. After storming his house and searching it, they allegedly discovered bloodstains and garments saturated in blood.

The mob, infuriated by the evidence, started attacking Joseph, who under duress confessed to the crime and a number of other unreported murders.

He said he was responsible for four murders that year and that he had been hired to kill by two influential people in the district.

Joseph claims that these people demanded money in return for blood and crucial organs for ceremonial purposes.

Before the police could intervene, the mob set Joseph on fire, killing him instantly. His remains were later retrieved by the police and sent to the mortuary.

Chief Superintendent William Gyamfi, the Mpohor District Police Commander, confirmed the incident to Citi News. However, he declined to provide further details regarding arrests or the ongoing investigation.

The police have since launched an investigation into the lynching and the allegations of ritual killings.
