The contract that Jamal Musiala has with Bayern Munich has been extended until June 2030.
In 2019, the 21-year-old German forward came from Chelsea’s academy to join the Bundesliga team.
When he signed his first professional contract in March 2021 at the age of 18, he initially committed to Bayern until 2026.
“Bayern is one of the biggest clubs in the world. I took my first steps in professional football here and firmly believe we can achieve something big with this club in the coming years,” he said.
Born in Stuttgart but raised in England, Musiala has since amassed 38 caps after choosing to play for Germany in 2021 rather than England or Nigeria.
In 193 senior appearances, he has scored 58 goals and provided 31 assists for Bayern, winning four league titles and the Champions League.
Musiala has played 30 games for his team this season, tallying 15 goals and dishing out eight assists.
As they look to reclaim the crown from second-place Bayer Leverkusen, Bayern has a clear eight-point advantage at the top of the table thanks to 14 goal involvements in 18 Bundesliga games.
Bayern president Herbert Hainer said: “People go to the stadium for players like Jamal Musiala.
“He’s a truly exceptional player. Sometimes you feel like the rules of gravity don’t apply to him.”
