Yellow Ghana, a political movement aiming to address national challenges and unite Africa into a borderless economy, has been officially recognized by Ghana’s Electoral Commission. Founded in October 2020, it received a provisional certificate on May 30th, 2024, allowing it to mobilize as a political party under section 8 (2) of the Political Parties Act 2000 (ACT 574).
Samuel Apea-Danquah, the temporary leader of Yellow Ghana and an independent presidential candidate, posted about this momentous move on Facebook.
Mr Apea-Danquah told Myjoyonline.com that this process “Effectively makes us a political party and allows us to rally like-minded Ghanaians from all over the country. We have now transitioned from Yellow Ghana – the movement to Yellow Ghana – the political party.”
He sent his sincere appreciation to everyone who helped make this accomplishment possible and promised to collaborate with all members, executives, and citizens to make Ghana better for everyone, not just a small group of people.
He invited citizens interested in party positions, including parliamentary roles, to apply. Yellow Ghana is for a brighter future for all Ghanaians through leadership, equality, and prosperity.
He noted that Yellow Ghana has been holding a number of events, such as the unveiling of its manifesto, in order to get ready for the 2024 election.
When asked if they could succeed against the major parties, NDC and NPP, Mr. Samuel Apea-Danquah replied, “As Dr. Kwame Nkrumah said, organization determines everything. With a strong message, decentralized platform, and passion, we will succeed.”
Yellow Ghana, with the slogan “Freedom, Justice, and Prosperity,” is dedicated to leader accountability, citizen prosperity, and equality for all. Represented by the color yellow and a black anchor, it stands for optimism, hope, youth, and energy, as well as stability and strength.
A Manifesto for Progress
Mr. Samuel Apea-Danquah’s 330-page manifesto details plans to transform Ghana through common-sense reforms and full digitalization. It includes initiatives to create jobs, advance technology, and improve infrastructure, addressing governance, justice, labor, education, resources, finance, and more.
After the manifesto release, he said, “Inspired by the Parable of the Talents, we must develop and account for Ghana. I urge the youth to join me, inspired by Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, who led us to independence at 42 without prior government experience. It’s time to save Ghana, and we can do it together.”
