Before Buhari became president, their operations were outrageous in the north. True to his words, he has driven them away from their formidable hideouts. Some of their notorious activities are kidnapping, bomb planting and human rights abuse.
Sources told Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication focused on the Lake Chad region, that pilots flying Super Tucano jets bombed the gathering of more than 100 terrorists, dozens of them on motorcycles. Many of the terrorists were also injured. Chad has also become unstable and a haven for the group.
Most of the terrorists are believed to have sustained heavy injuries. It was also learnt that some of the fighters who escaped the onslaught laid down their arms and surrendered to the troops.
