Frank Annor Dompreh, a Member of Parliament (MP) representing the Nsawam-Adoagyire Constituency in the Eastern Region, was found guilty of contempt by the Accra High Court.
After he entered a prior guilty plea, the court presided over by Justice Abena Oppong Adjin-Doku found him guilty of the crime.
The Court ruled that Mr. Annor-Dompreh ought to be aware that he is not a typical member of society.
The Court spared him a jail term because of this.
GH¢7, 200, or 600 punishment units, were imposed against him by Justice Adjin-Doku during his sentencing on Tuesday 23.
The MP was given a contempt citation after it was brought to the High Court’s (Land Court 1) notice that he interfered with the work of police officers and court bailiffs during an execution on contested land.
