Nsoatreman FC won their first FA Cup trophy ever with an unexpected victory over Bofoakwa Tano, a rival team from the region.
On Sunday night, the teams squared off at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.
After 120 minutes, the game ended in a 1-1 draw, however Nsoatreman FC prevailed 5-4 in the penalty shootout. The University of GhanRichard Dzikoe’s close-range goal in the 21st minute gave Bofoakwa Tano the lead; it was assisted by Ali Alhassan’s left-wing ground cross.

Sadat Mohammed scored a long-range goal by taking advantage of a mistake made by the goalkeeper.
The game proceeded to penalties because there were no further goals scored in extra time. Nsoatreman FC prevailed, taking home the MTN FA Cup trophy for 2023–2024 with a 5–4 victory.
Nsoatreman FC has qualified for the CAF Confederations Cup for the upcoming season as winners.
MTN, the competition’s main sponsor, will give them an extra GHC 100,000 in addition to the GHC 80,000 in prize money to help them prepare for the African tournament.
