Otto Addo Is a Latter Day Saint – Mohammed Polo Proclaims

Mohammed Polo, a former Black Stars player, has characterized Otto Addo, the current coach of the national team, as a “latter-day saint,” suggesting that a coach could have been chosen from the pool of retired players who contributed to Ghana’s four African Cup of Nations (Afcon) triumphs.

Polo, the recipient of the 1975 Ghana Football Association Footballer of the Year award, was among the retired footballers recognized at a ceremony hosted by Footy Legends Gh at the Mantse Agbonaa Park in James Town.

Following the event, Mohammed Polo, affectionately known as “the dribbling magician,” expressed his sentiments in a one-on-one interview with Citi Sports, stating that he was disheartened by the sidelining of players from the 1970s and 1980s.

I think the man himself who has been brought in is a latter-day saint.

I feel sad but it’s an opportunity. We saw what Kwesi Appiah did, but for some reason, they had to sideline him. ”

I’m saying today that he’s the best coach that we have had in recent times.

He’s still a coach but he’s outside coaching when we need a coach.

Now we are going to try somebody. We are giving Otto Addo a trial.

I’m not saying he’s not good but don’t we have people in the system to give them trials?

Certain things are happening in the system that are not helping us.”
