Peter Amewu Loses Mother

John-Peter Amewu, Member of Parliament for the Hohoe constituency in the Volta Region, is mourning the loss of his mother, Gertrude Anani Amewu. The sad event transpired recently, as shared by Mr. Amewu, who also serves as the Minister for Railway Development.

In a heartfelt post on his Facebook page, Amewu informed the public about his mother’s passing and requested prayers for himself and his family during this challenging period. The loss of a loved one is always a difficult experience, and Amewu’s appeal for support underscores the profound impact of this loss on him and his family.

In a brief homage, the MP expressed that his mother, fondly known as Don’t Worry, was the most compassionate individual he has ever encountered and played a significant role in shaping his character and identity.

At 94 years old, she leaves behind a legacy of kindness and love that will undoubtedly endure in the hearts of those who knew her, especially her son, John-Peter Amewu, who cherishes her memory dearly.

He wrote:

My lovely mum; Mrs. Gertrude Anani Amewu also known as “Don’t Worry” sadly passed away a few days ago. She was the kindest person in the world and made me who I am today.

“We’re taking some time as a family to grieve her loss and we ask for your prayers in this difficult moment. May the good Lord rest her gentle soul and bless her lineage. Thank you,”
