When Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the vice president and presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), visited the Ho Central Market in the Volta region, he was accosted by traders.

They rushed Dr. Bawumia as he moved through the market to get to know the vendors, singing songs linked with the NPP.

During his day-long tour in the Volta Region, Dr. Bawumia spoke with Ho’s youth, traditional leaders, Muslim clerics, and members of the clergy.

The traders greeted him with great enthusiasm as soon as he entered the market, referring to him as Ghana’s savior.

There was never before so much human traffic in the market due to the congested main pathways.

The Vice President shook hands and gave hugs to those who were fortunate enough to have them.

Speaking to the religious authorities, he explained that, because his family was made up of both Christians and Muslims, he had been exposed to Christianity since he was a little child and had even participated in the faith at one point.

According to him, the goal of the tour is to get feedback from interested parties so that he may better define his manifesto and help Ghana advance toward becoming a developed nation.

Dr. Bawumia discussed a number of topics, including his digitization agenda, the restructuring of the agriculture industry, the implementation of a flat tax system, the utilization of solar energy, lower import duties, and the introduction of public electrical buses.

He reaffirmed his commitment to positioning Ghana to benefit from the fourth industrial revolution at the Volta Region House of Chiefs.
