Rapper Pope Skinny, from Ghana, has made a startling career change by revealing that he is now a truck driver in the US.
The performer explained that, the decision was influenced by the absence of financial stability for entertainers in Ghana.
Pope Skinny claims that although Ghanaian performers can achieve fame through popular songs, sponsorships, and appearances, they are not provided with a long-term savings plan or pension plan.
This is why so many veterans face difficulties in their older years, he said.
Pope Skinny traveled to the US in order to ensure his future; he claimed that he would never have contemplated a career in truck driving back in Ghana.
“I’m proud to be a truck driver in America because it pays my bills, It’s a job I won’t do in Ghana, but nobody knows me here so I am okay. It brings me financial stability” he added.
