Management of Kumasi Asante Kotoko club are in negotiable talks with Richmond Lamptey in hopes of a contract renewal.
The administrative manager of the club’s interim management committee Emmanuel Newton Dasoberi revealed this in an encounter with KESSBEN FM this week.
Richmond Lamptey has been a monumental player in the club since his move from the Ghana Premier League side Inter Allies. The Midfielder’s outstanding resulted in a call-up to the senior national team. He was one of the three players are the local football level who earned the opportunity to represent the Black Stars.
Hero recently reflected on his experience at the Black Stars camp and how has positively impacted his career.
The then Black Stars coach Chris Hughton however did not feature the 26 year old midfielder in any of the matches during the tournament despite constant demands.
Richmond Lamptey has made 16 appearances for Asante Kotoko Club this season. He has 5 goal assist contributions to his name, ranking him the second position in the league’s assist ranking.
Asante Kotoko is facing a rather challenging phase this season after a series of match losses. The club is currently at 7th position on the league table and counting on leading players like Lamptey to turn the fortunes of the club around.
