Rose Amoanimaa Yeboah, the high jump prodigy from Ghana, won the gold medal in the women’s high jump discipline at the current African Athletics Championship in Cameroon.
After overcoming her rivals to win her second straight gold at the African Athletics Championship, Yeboah, who had already booked her place in the Paris Olympics, showed that she was unstoppable at the Japoma Stadium in Douala.
After winning her first gold medal in the 13th African Games, which were held in Ghana a few months ago, this is the 21-year-old high jumper’s second on the continent this year.
She broke the national record for the longest jump at the NCAA D1 Championship earlier in June, clearing 1.97 meters, and has been outstanding so far this season.
She became Ghana’s first female field athlete to qualify for the Olympics by doing this, and she went on to win a seat at the Paris Olympics.
In the track and field competition, Rose Yeboah would be a serious medal contender for Ghana, which is looking to earn its first Olympic medal.
Additionally, she represented Ghana with gold in the African Games in 2019 and again in Mauritius at the African Senior Athletics Championship in 2022.
