Rosemond Wilson Named New Head Of WAEC
Dr. Rosemond Wilson has been named the new head of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) Ghana National Office.
Mrs. Wendy E. Addy-Lamptey, has retired from the role.
On Wednesday, July 17, WAEC in Accra released a statement containing the announcement.
Dr. Wilson’s vast knowledge and competence in assessment, which she has accumulated over her 27-year stint with WAEC, beginning in September 1997, were highlighted in the announcement.
Dr. Wilson was the acting head of WAEC’s Test Development Division prior to her current position.
Her leadership in this capacity has been demonstrated by her notable contributions to the design and administration of exams.
Early in the 1990s, Dr. Wilson started working as a tutor for elective mathematics.
In Ghana’s Western Region, she worked as a teacher first at Tarkwa Senior High School and then at Baidoo Bonsoe Senior High Technical School.
Her work as a teacher prepared her well for her positions at WAEC in the future.
She has received recognition over the years for her devotion to raising the bar for educational assessment standards in the area.
Dr. Wilson is anticipated to contribute her vast experience and knowledge as the next Head of the WAEC National Office in Ghana to further improve the council’s efficacy and operations.
Her appointment ushers in a new phase in WAEC’s goal to uphold superior standards in educational evaluation throughout West Africa.
