Afrobeats musician Ruger has revealed that he hasn’t driven since a horrific vehicle accident in 2023.
The singer recently discussed his new music during an appearance as a guest on Cool FM’s The Road Show. He disclosed that he had been involved in an automobile accident and has not driven a vehicle since.
He recounted:
“The last time I drove in Lagos I had an accident. It was at night, we were playing around when it happened and nobody actually knows about it. This is the first time I’m talking about it. The car tumbled like 3 times but everyone was okay. This was last year by the way.”

Ruger wasn’t the only well-known Nigerian figure to be involved in an accident last year. In July 2023, controversial singer Portable was involved in an accident with his new G-Wagon. As per his account, the event happened near Osapa London, Lekki as he was en route to his music studio.
Thankfully, Nollywood star Kelechi Udegbe, who was also involved in the collision in November 2023, only suffered minor injuries.
The terrible mishap happened in the middle of the night on Thursday, November 2, 2023, according to the actor’s management.
The car was severely damaged in the videos and photos that were uploaded, and the back tires were hanging in midair.
