In regards to Ghanaian midfielder Daniel Kofi Kyereh, who has been out for almost two years owing to recurrent injuries, SC Freiburg head coach Christian Streich has provided a positive report.
In February 2023, the 29-year-old playmaker had his second tear of the cruciate ligament. Despite making excellent progress, Kyereh experienced another setback in July 2024 when he aggravated the same injury and had to have surgery.
Streich expressed his optimism regarding the player’s recuperation process in an interview with the media.
“Kofi has been suffering for a long time. Two years is a really long time. Nevertheless, there have been positive moments recently,” the coach said.
He added, “He’s mostly been playing individually. Nevertheless, he’s already participated in some of our training sessions at the start. These are moments that make us feel positive.”
Kyereh, who has 18 caps for Ghana’s national team, is yet to feature for Freiburg this season.
