Schalke 04 Signs Ghanaian Striker Christopher Antwi-Adjei

During the current transfer window, Ghanaian international Christopher Antwi-Adjei was successfully signed by Schalke 04, a German Bundesliga 2 team.

The 27-year-old winger left Bundesliga team VfL Bochum when his contract expired in June 2024, ending his three-year stay with the team. He now signs with Schalke 04 as a free agent.

With the agreement to a two-year contract, Antwi-Adjei will remain with Schalke 04 until June 2026.

In his quest to help the Royal Blues win their way back into the Bundesliga, he will don the number 18 jersey and is anticipated to be a major contributor.

Antwi-Adjei has played for a number of clubs, including SC Paderborn, having spent almost his whole career there. His wealth of German football knowledge will be a great advantage to Schalke 04.

The Ghanaian winger made 25 appearances for Bochum in the previous campaign, scoring two goals and dishing out two assists as the team just missed relegation.

Antwi-Adjei has won three caps for Ghana after he made his debut for the Black Stars, the national team, in November 2019.

In 1999, Antwi-Adjei started playing football with Fortuna Hagen, the team from his hometown. He then advanced through the youth ranks at Westfalia Herne, MSV Duisburg, Hasper SV, and Eintracht Dortmund before making his Oberliga Westphalia debut in 2013.

After that, he signed with SC Paderborn 07 before relocating to TSG Sprockhövel. He was a member of the Paderborn team that went from the third division to the Bundesliga with back-to-back promotions.

Antwi-Adjei was a vital member of the Bochum team that helped them win the Bundesliga three times in a row. He has played in the German Bundesliga for 62 seasons and the Bundesliga 2 for 113.
