The Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has lauded Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations, Stan Dogbe, and Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, for their instrumental roles in the Black Stars’ and Black Queens’ successful qualification campaigns.
Following a historic setback in failing to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, the first in over two decades, Otto Addo’s Black Stars bounced back to secure a place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, set to be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Ghana topped Group I with 25 points to seal their ticket to football’s biggest stage.
Meanwhile, after finishing third at the 2024 WAFCON in Morocco, the Black Queens overcame Egypt with a commanding 7-0 aggregate score to qualify for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
Speaking on The Arena on Woezor TV, Adams commended the unwavering support of Ghanaians and the media, while highlighting the critical contributions of Dogbe and Debrah in achieving these milestones.
“It is a shared congratulations. Ghanaians played a huge role, and the media also played their role so well; they also deserved to be congratulated,” he said.
He also extended gratitude to President Mahama, noting his pivotal role in the teams’ successes.
“I congratulate President Mahama as well because he played a key role in this success we have chalked.
“I will also want to congratulate our Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations, Stan Dogbe and Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah. They have played a key role by putting things together for the team.
“They have done so well to ensure that, as a minister, I will be able to perform my role well, and I thank them for their assistance,” the Member of Parliament for Buem Constituency added.
