Spurs manager impressed with Mohammed Kudus’ work ethic

Spurs manager Thomas Frank impressed with Mohammed Kudus' work ethic in comeback draw at Brighton

Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank has lavished praise on Ghana ace Mohammed Kudus following his inspiring display in the come draw at Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday in the English Premier League.

Kudus, once again delivered a masterful all-round performance, to ensure Spurs left the Amex Park with a valuable point. The 25-year-old served an assist and forced a late own-goal as Spurs clawed back from 2-0 to 2-2 at full time.

The former West Ham United player also contributed defensive and was a menace at the right side of attack as Brighton’s defenders struggled to get the ball off the Ghanaian.

“I think two things. One, his work ethic has been really good. It’s big for me, how hard he works in the counter-press, high pressure, the defensive side of it. But his hold-up play, when it goes into him, it just sticks,” said Frank during the post-match interview.

“You can’t get it off him. He just keeps it, he doesn’t lose a 50-50 ball. The third thing is his one-on-one ability is crazy. He’s so strong, so explosive. He just dominated the right-hand side,” he added.

Kudus’ delicate strike was directed into the net by Brazilian forward Richarlison just before half time before another of his elusive crosses ended in the net following a header from Jan Paul van Hecke.

Meanwhile, Brighton took charge of the game early after Gambian winger Yankuba Minteh scored in the 8th before Yasin Ayari added the second on the half hour mark.

Kudus is still waiting for his first strike for Spur but has already contributed three goals in the English Premier League.
