Thomas-Asante To Join George Boateng At Coventry City

Brandon Thomas-Asante, a striker from Ghana, will be moving from West Brom to Coventry City, a Championship team.

Last season, Thomas-Asante had a tremendous season with West Bromwich Albion in the Championship, tallying 11 goals and dishing out two assists.

Numerous teams, notably Hull City, were interested in signing him after seeing his outstanding performances.

But in the end, the agreement fell through.

Coventry City’s recently hired first-team coach George Boateng seems to have had a big influence on Thomas-Asante’s choice to sign with the Sky Blues.

Although the striker did not make the final roster, Boateng had earlier called up Thomas-Asante to Ghana’s provisional team for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

In June, he also got the opportunity to make his Ghanaian debut against the Central African Republic in a World Cup qualifier.

Coventry City, who advanced to the FA Cup semifinals and finished ninth in the Championship the previous year, will be looking to Thomas-Asante to increase their prospects of making the Premier League next season.

Thomas-Asante made 39 appearances in the Championship last season while playing for West Brom, tallying two assists and 11 goals.

He arrived at The Hawthorns for around £300,000 from Salford City, and in his two years there, he has made 72 appearances and scored 18 goals.

He has been a vital member of the West Brom team, leading the team in scoring in each of his first two seasons.
