Trey Songz Faces $11 Million Penalty For Assaulting Police Officer.

In a civil violence action concerning a 2021 incident with Tyrelle Dunn, a Maryland Capitol police officer, musician Trey Songz was forced to pay more than $11 million.

Court filings state that Dunn filed the complaint after he claimed he was hurt trying to assist his wife during a fight in Songz’s hotel room in Las Vegas.

While Songz was celebrating his 37th birthday at The Cosmopolitan in November 2021, the incident took place. In his lawsuit, Dunn claimed that his wife was being held against her will when she yelled for help when she and a group of ladies were in Songz’s hotel room.

Dunn maintained a legal complaint against Songz even though he was exonerated of criminal charges in April 2022. In addition to requesting punitive damages, medical costs, and pain and suffering reimbursement, the case claimed carelessness. According to court documents, Songz failed to reply to the action, which resulted in Dunn receiving a default judgment.

A judge in Las Vegas decided in Dunn’s favor, giving him millions of dollars to compensate for his losses and injuries.

The “Bottoms Up” singer, whose career has been tarnished in recent years by several accusations and controversies, faces yet another judicial fight with this verdict.

Songz has not yet made any public remarks regarding the ruling or if he plans to appeal, even after the court’s ruling.
