US Rapper Young Thug Freed From Jail Following Guilty Plea
After a 900-day struggle, Young Thug, whose actual name is Jeffrey Lamar Williams, has finally been released from prison.
As part of a plea deal, he entered guilty pleas to several crimes, including gang, drug, and firearm offenses.
“I take full responsibility for my crimes, for my charges. To really everybody that has got something to do with this situation, I want to say sorry,” Williams said in court.
Originally facing a 45-year sentence, Superior Court Judge Paige Whitaker shortened the 33-year-old Grammy winner’s sentence to time served and 15 years of probation.
In court, Williams apologized and described himself as a “good guy with a good heart” who got into problems because he was “nice or cool.”
