Young Ghanaian Tech Innovators Out With University Admissions App

A group of youthful Ghanaian innovators in information and communication technology are about to release an application that will enable parents and their children to verify their eligibility for admission to any university in Ghana.

The product is a web tool called Admissions Checker that provides a degree of assurance regarding admission to institutions in Ghana.

The software will eliminate the uncertainty and significant expense to parents and students that exists at the Presbyterian Boys Senior High School in Legon, and it will launch in a few hours.

Currently, SHS graduates who want to apply to universities have to pay around GHS200 for various application forms in the hopes of getting admitted by at least one university.

Admissions Checker tackles this problem by providing a practical method for choosing colleges and programs, which clarifies the procedure.

Senior high school students can use the web application to enter their NovDec or WASSCE results onto a site that contains requirements for tertiary admissions.

The system evaluates the data entered and calculates the probability of being admitted to different colleges and courses using algorithms.

Students can strategically focus their applications to schools and courses where they have a higher chance of acceptance based on Admissions Checker’s conclusions.

This lessens ambiguity and does away with the requirement for several pricey applications.

The Admissions Checker developers will provide a step-by-step guidance and explanation of the app’s functionality to the public during the launch event.
