Ex-Asante Kotoko Striker Steven Mukwala Signs For Tanzania’s Simba SC

After spending two years with the Porcupine Warriors, former Kumasi Asante Kotoko striker Steven Mukwala has formally joined Tanzania’s largest sports club, Simba Sporting Club.

The Ugandan striker, 24, had a great stint with the Kumasi-based team, contributing seven assists and 25 goals in 59 Ghana Premier League matches.

He scored in both halves of the most important league games in Ghana between Kotoko and Hearts, including two braces in a 2-0 victory over Hearts at Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.

After Kotoko finished sixth in the league at the end of the 2023–2024 season, Mukwala made an announcement about his departure from the team.

Following the announcement of Joshua Mutale’s recruitment by the CAF Champions League champions, the former striker for URA Kampala has signed a two-year contract with Simba.

Mukwala is one of 21 players that left Kotoko at the end of the season; midfielder Richmond Lamptey, for example, joined APR of Rwanda.

He was unable to bring home a championship when he was with Kotoko.
