Atletico Madrid Negotiating With Chelsea For Gallagher

Conor Gallagher, a midfield player for Chelsea, is being courted by Atletico Madrid.

The 24-year-old is on vacation following his participation for England in the German-hosted Euro 2024.

Gallagher may require persuasion to make the transfer as he has not yet agreed to personal terms with the Spanish club.

Gallagher, whose contract is about to expire, is said to be up for sale by Chelsea.

Gallagher, who joined the team at the age of six, has had exploratory negotiations to extend his contract this summer, but it’s not obvious if the terms will be sufficient to keep him.

There hasn’t been much talk about a possible transfer to a Premier League team this year, despite the fact that West Ham and Tottenham both expressed interest in him last summer.

Before a game in Atlanta, questions regarding Gallagher’s future were posed to new Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca.

He said: “The transfer window is open so unfortunately something can happen, not only with Conor, but all the players.”

Chelsea is rumored to have had at least one proposal rejected this summer, although the Blues have expressed interest in Atletico Madrid attacker Samu Omorodion, who is currently focusing on the Olympics with Spain and would not welcome offers.
