Hasaacas Ladies Coach Quits After 21 Years, Moves To Simba Queens In Tanzania

Yussif Basigi has formally left Hasaacas Ladies after 21 years.

The 52-year-old is expected to join Tanzanian club Simba Queens on a one-year contract, seeking a new challenge.

Before taking over as head coach of the men’s team, Basigi started his tenure at Hasaacas in 2003 and first obtained his coaching credentials.

After making the switch to the women’s squad in 2013, he helped them win the inaugural Ghana Women’s Premier League, five league titles total, and an FA Cup in 2021.

In the first WAFU B Women’s Champions League, Basigi led Hasaacas to victory, while in the CAF competition, the team placed second.

Assistant coach Mabel Baffoe Eshun is currently in charge of Hasaacas Ladies when they participate in the 2024 Women’s Premier Super Cup.

After leading the Black Princesses in the Colombian 2024 U-20 Women’s World Cup, Basigi just got back.
