NSA Declares Baba Yara Stadium Ready To Host Games

Following the completion of major repairs, Patience Adams, the National Sports Authority’s (NSA) Ashanti Regional Public Relations Officer, has declared that the Baba Yara Sports Stadium is prepared to host football games.

After the Confederation of African Football (CAF) canceled its license to hold international matches, the stadium was briefly shuttered, necessitating significant renovations.

Adams affirmed that the stadium is finished and operational following several months of renovations.

She did point out that before it can formally reopen, final approval from Accra authorities is still pending.

“All work at the Baba Yara Stadium is completed and ready to host any football events, but we are awaiting clearance from our masters in Accra before the facility can be opened,” she told Akoma FM.

Asante Kotoko moved to the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium as their home field for the current 2024–25 Ghana Premier League season as a result of the temporary shutdown.

After receiving the required approval, the team is anticipated to return to Baba Yara Stadium.
