Sefa Announces Departure From D-Black’s Black Avenue Muzik.

Ghanaian artist Sefadzi Abena Amesu, better known by her stage name Sefa, has declared her intention to leave Black Avenue Muzik, the label that is controlled by D-Black, a musician and businessman.

In an interview with Accra FM on Thursday, October 24, 2024, she disclosed this information and that she is no longer associated with the label.

“I no longer work with Black Avenue,” she said in response to the lack of promotion for her song “Vibration.”

The “E Choke” hitmaker responded that she has been absent from the label “for some time” when questioned about her departure.

“My contract ended, and like I’ve always said, when you’re working with people you consider family, it’s a roller coaster. Things happen, and there were some business misunderstandings,” she added.

Sefa, who worked for Black Avenue Muzik for around seven years, put out a number of hit tracks, such as “Fever,” “E Choke,” “Shuga,” “Player,” and “Vibration.”

Her song “E Choke” received the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards’ Afrobeats Song of the Year title in 2022.

Sefa, who is now pursuing an independent career, recently dropped a new song called “All Over,” which features Camidoh.
