Kudus Faces Extra 2-Game Suspension After Red Card Incident Against Spurs

Mohammed Kudus, a Ghanaian international, was given a further two-game punishment for his actions during West Ham United’s 4-1 loss to Tottenham Hotspur.

A brawl broke out between players from the two teams when Kudus fouled Tottenham’s Micky van de Ven in the 82nd minute.

In addition to pushing Pape Matar Sarr, Van de Ven claimed that Kudus “punched him in the face.”

Referee Andrew Madley first gave Kudus a yellow card, but following a VAR review, the it was changed to a straight red card.

Following the Football Association’s assessment, Kudus, who had previously scored West Ham’s lone goal in the London derby, will now be subject to a further two-match suspension and a £60,000 fine in addition to his first three-game ban.

In addition to missing games against Newcastle United and Arsenal, Kudus’ initial punishment was supposed to expire following West Ham’s next match against Everton. He won’t return until after the international break.

Additionally, West Ham United was fined £30,000 for their inability to maintain player discipline throughout the altercation.

An FA statement read:

“West Ham United and Mohammed Kudus have been sanctioned in relation to incidents during their Premier League fixture against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, 19 October.

“It was alleged that the club failed to ensure their players didn’t behave in an improper, provocative, and/or violent way around the 82nd minute. West Ham United admitted to this charge, and an independent Regulatory Commission subsequently fined the club £30,000.

“It was also alleged that Mohammed Kudus acted in an improper manner and/or used violent conduct after the offence for which he was sent off. The forward admitted to this charge, and he has been given a two-match suspension and £60,000 fine by the Regulatory Commission.”

Kudus acknowledged to charges of inappropriate and violent behavior, which resulted in a two-match suspension and a £60,000 fine, according to the statement.

Due to the initial ban, which ends this Saturday when West Ham plays Everton, Kudus has already missed games against Manchester United and Nottingham Forest. On December 3, when West Ham travels to play Leicester City, he is anticipated to make a comeback to the starting lineup.
