Ghana’s national team gearing up for 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers

Thomas Partey, Mohammed Kudus bolster Ghana squad for crucial World Cup qualifiers

Ghana’s national football team is gearing up for pivotal 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Chad and Madagascar.

Head coach Otto Addo has announced a 23-man squad that includes standout players Thomas Partey and Mohammed Kudus.

Partey, currently in stellar form with Arsenal, is expected to bring his midfield dominance to the national team. Kudus, known for his creative flair, will also be a key asset in Ghana’s attacking strategy.

These fixtures are critical for Ghana’s aspirations to secure a spot in the World Cup. In Group I of the CAF qualifiers, Ghana shares the top position with Comoros, both amassing nine points from four matches. Madagascar trails closely with seven points, while Mali has five. The Central African Republic and Chad occupy the lower spots with four and zero points, respectively.

The team’s composition reflects a blend of experienced internationals and emerging talents. Notably, Christopher Bonsu Baah and Benjamin Asare have earned their debut call-ups, signaling a strategic move to inject fresh energy into the squad.

Securing positive results against Chad and Madagascar would significantly bolster the team’s standing in the group and bring them closer to qualification.
