Police officer arrested for allegedly defrauding two MoMo vendors of GH₵8,700

A Ghana Police officer has been arrested in the Upper East Region after allegedly defrauding two Mobile Money (MoMo) vendors of GH₵8,700.

G/Sgt Isaac Asare Mensah (Service No. 51880) is accused of collecting electronic cash from the vendors after promising to hand over the equivalent amount in physical cash—but allegedly failed to pay.

According to the Ghana Police Service, the officer admitted to the offence during preliminary investigations. He is currently in police custody as investigations continue.
