Alidu Seidu Pens New Contract With Stade Rennes

By agreeing to a contract extension that will keep him at Stade Rennes until 2029, Ghanaian defender Alidu Seidu has committed to the team for the future.

Prior to sustaining a ligament injury, Seidu, who joined Rennes from Clermont Foot last year, made 22 appearances in Ligue 1 this season and has been an essential member of the team.

The team has demonstrated faith in the dynamic right-back by extending him a long-term contract, even though he will miss the rest of the season due to injury.

Arnaud Pouille, the CEO and Executive Chairman of Rennes, said he was thrilled with Seidu’s contract extension.

His trademark smile isn’t a facade; Alidu has a genuine, wonderful aura about him. On the field, too, he knows how to assume responsibility,” he said.

He’s a leader who has made his presence felt since his arrival. We’re particularly looking forward to seeing him back on the field,” he added.

Currently undergoing rehabilitation, Seidu remains determined to recover fully and repay the club’s trust with strong performances once he returns to the field.
