Dr. Randy Abbey Joins Black Stars Management Committee

Dr. Randy Abbey has joined the Black Stars Management Committee, according to Henry Asante Twum, the director of communications for the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

This decision comes after the Black Stars finished last in Group F with just three points, meaning they were unable to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Asante Twum claims that the action is a component of a more comprehensive evaluation of the team’s performance following their second straight group-stage elimination at the 2023 AFCON tournament in Ivory Coast.

“Randy Abbey has joined the Black Stars Management Committee,” Asante Twum confirmed in an interview with Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports Show.

He added, “After the AFCON tournament in Ivory Coast, there were some reviews of the team’s performance, so the FA decided to retain Mark Addo, Akwesi Agyeman, and now Randy Abbey has joined the Management Committee.”

The chairman of the management committee is still Mark Addo.

In addition to serving on the GFA Executive Council, Dr. Randy Abbey is the Chairman of the Black Satellites’ Management Committee.
