Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club is reportedly interested in recruiting two goalkeepers for the next campaign.
Hearts of Oak are keeping an eye on goalkeeper Emmanuel Kobi of Bofoakwa Tano and stopper Benjamin Asare of Accra Great Olympics.
Nevertheless, after Bofoakwa finished 17th and Great Olympics finished 16th in the recently concluded season, both keepers’ teams were demoted to Division One.
This comes after Hearts placed 14th in the Ghana Premier League during the 2023–2024 season and briefly flirted dangerously with relegation in the later part of the competition.
Despite the Phobians having four goalkeepers on the squad, goalkeeping was one area where the playing body struggled in the most recent season.
Although they briefly held the position of Phobians, Richmond Ayi, Richard Attah, Kwesi Nketiah, and Sharif Shuaib have come under intense scrutiny.
Benjamin Asare led the league in clean sheet totals (16) and was a good player despite being demoted with Great Olympics. Hearts intends to start a huge player purge, matching rivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
