Mohammed Kudus, a forward for West Ham United, might be suspended for six games after getting into many altercations during the team’s 4-1 loss to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
After a collision with Micky van de Ven in the second half, the 23-year-old was shown the red card.
As Kudus had another confrontation in which he bumped heads with Richarlison and then shoved Pape Matar Sarr in the face, tensions increased.
After a VAR review, Kudus’s initial yellow card from referee Andrew Madley was changed to a straight red.
Former Premier League referee Mike Dean commented on SkySports, stating, “When you look at the footage, he could have been sent off for the first incident alone.”
He also indicated that the FA might extend Kudus’s suspension due to his actions, saying, “Hopefully, with the second one, the FA will take retrospective action, so he’ll get penalized twice in my opinion for hitting two different players in the face on two occasions.”
The Black Stars forward might not play until December 2024 if the FA does issue more sanctions.
