Manchester City Prepares For Pep Guardiola ‘s Exit in 2025

At the conclusion of their 2024–25 season, Manchester City is reportedly expected head coach Pep Guardiola to leave the team.

According to The Daily Mail, the Spaniard’s tenure as manager at the Etihad Stadium will finish in mid-2025, making the upcoming season his final one. Although they do wish to see the former Barcelona manager stay longer, the Citizens will give him time to consider his options and anticipate that he will leave his current position. Following City’s FA Cup final defeat to Manchester United, the story states that “succession planning will begin”.

Having won six Premier League titles, two FA Cups, four League Cups, the Champions League, the FIFA Club World Cup, and more, Guardiola is possibly City’s greatest-ever acquisition. There will be a chasm as big as this at City and in the Premier League if he leaves in 2025. The 53-year-old will undoubtedly be remembered as one of the all-time great managers.

This information was released just over a day after City’s attempt to win back-to-back league and cup doubles was dashed in a 2-1 FA Cup final defeat to rival Manchester United. In addition, Guardiola recently acknowledged that he is “closer to leaving than staying,” but he has stated that he will still be coaching City the next season.

Guardiola will depart for his summer vacation before getting ready for what might be his final season at the club. On Sunday, he celebrated City’s Premier League triumph with an open-top bus tour in Manchester.
