Although they do wish to see the former Barcelona manager stay longer, the Citizens will give him time to consider his options and anticipate that he will leave his current position. Following City’s FA Cup final defeat to Manchester United, the story states that “succession planning will begin”.
Having won six Premier League titles, two FA Cups, four League Cups, the Champions League, the FIFA Club World Cup, and more, Guardiola is possibly City’s greatest-ever acquisition. There will be a chasm as big as this at City and in the Premier League if he leaves in 2025. The 53-year-old will undoubtedly be remembered as one of the all-time great managers.
