PSG Still Interested In Signing Bernardo Silva From Man City

Paris Saint-Germain remains keen on acquiring Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva and might make a move to bring him to their team this summer.

Silva, aged 29, played a crucial role in Manchester City’s successful retention of the Premier League title, achieving this feat for the sixth time in his seven seasons with the club.

The talented attacking midfielder is widely recognized as one of the top players in world football, shining alongside stars like Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden at Manchester City. Despite this, rumors of his departure from the Etihad Stadium have circulated for about three years.

Barcelona has long admired Silva but struggled financially to make an offer, while PSG has also been impressed by his skills. Manchester City previously valued Silva at around £80m and showed no interest in selling him.

Last August, Silva extended his contract until June 2026, with a £50m release clause set to activate next year. However, PSG continues to target him, especially as they prepare for the potential departure of Kylian Mbappe.

PSG Plans for next summer

PSG is planning to spend big this summer, with the potential departure of Mbappe freeing up significant funds, around €225m. They aim to strengthen their squad to pursue their first Champions League title.

The team is targeting players for several positions, including a wide player, central midfielder – roles that Silva could fill well – striker, and center-back.

Whether Silva would leave City is uncertain, but it might require an offer of at least €75m (£63.8m) for Manchester City to consider selling him. Pep Guardiola is content with Silva and prefers to keep him at the club.

PSG has decided not to pursue Newcastle United’s Bruno Guimaraes and is unlikely to make progress in their pursuit of Gavi, another player they’re interested in. Barcelona sees Gavi as a future club captain, so they’re not open to negotiations for the 19-year-old.
