Vincent Sowah-Odotei, a Board Member of Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club, expresses the club’s joy in appointing Aboubakar Ouattara as head coach.
Ouattara, hailing from Ivory Coast, steps in to lead the team, taking over from Dutch coach Martin Koopman just before the commencement of the second round of the 2023-2024 Ghana Premier League season.
With Ouattara at the helm, Hearts kicked off with an impressive five-game unbeaten streak, only to face a setback with three consecutive losses. However, they swiftly recovered, clinching a remarkable 3-1 victory against Karela Football Club, highlighted by Salim Adams’ stunning goal, deemed one of the season’s best.
During an exclusive interview on Citi TV’s Football Made in Ghana, Sowah-Odotei expressed the club’s immense satisfaction in having Ouattara leading the team.
“We are extremely delighted to have him in our team. Ouattara brings to board huge experience in management of football, huge experience understanding of the business of football and huge experience and how to collaborate with team owners with all levels of a football club.”
We are extremely happy with him and it is our hope that we will be able to maintain him for a very long time.”
Hearts currently hold the ninth position in the league standings and are scheduled to face Legon Cities on Saturday, April 20th.
