Togbe Afede: ₵9M Invested in Modern Hearts of Oak Secretariat

Accra Hearts of Oak ‘s Executive Board Chairman, Togbe Afede XIV, has revealed the substantial investment made in the construction of the club’s new secretariat. The famous Ghanaian football institution is in the final stages of its ambitious Pobiman Project, likely to be ready by the end of the year.

Addressing attendees at the 6th Annual General Meeting held on Thursday at the Civil Service Auditorium, Togbe Afede said that around GHS 9 million is on allocation to the project, which is currently 95% complete. Noteworthy is the plan to lease out a section of the complex to generate extra revenue for the club.

“This structure is nearly finished, with about GHS 9 million invested so far,” he announced. “Part of this state-of-the-art facility will be on lease out to bolster revenue streams.”

The construction project, began after the demolition of the club’s previous secretariat, known as “Phobia House,” in May 2022. It is to furnish Hearts of Oak with a contemporary headquarters and operational hub.

The state-of-the-art complex will feature a range of amenities, such as staff accommodations, senior housing units, gymnasiums, training centers, laundry facilities, swimming pools, locker rooms, restrooms, kitchens, and dining areas.
