Afrifa Yamoah Ponko, a former member of the Asante Kotoko board, has gone away.
On Sunday, October 6, 2024, Ponko, who had been fighting a protracted illness, passed away.
Ponko, a well-known personality in Ghanaian politics and sports, was a significant member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
He was the Chief Executive of the Ejisu/Juaben Municipal Assembly, where he made great advancements in local development and governance, in addition to his work with Asante Kotoko.
Ponko gained respect from a variety of sources for his dedication and leadership. Both Ghana’s political scene and the football community are deeply saddened by his passing.
His steadfast commitment to public service and the growth of sports throughout his career will live on in his memory.
