Pep Guardiola hails Antoine Semenyo impact after bright start at Manchester City.
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has praised the early influence of Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo following his January move to the club from AFC Bournemouth.
The 26-year-old has quickly settled at the Etihad Stadium, scoring eight goals across all competitions for City after netting ten times for Bournemouth before his transfer.
Speaking to TNT Sports, Guardiola expressed satisfaction with the winger’s seamless adaptation to his new environment and his versatility in attack.
“It’s really nice to live this experience for the first time, really pleased,” Guardiola said.
“Top! First day in the locker room, in that spirit, really good.
“He can play on both sides offensively, in the centre, scored a lot of goals in the FA Cup, in the Carabao Cup, in the Premier League, so really good,” he added.
Semenyo, who has become an important figure in City’s attacking setup, was rested for their FA Cup semi-final victory over Southampton at Wembley on Saturday.
He is expected to return to action when City travel to face Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium this weekend.
