Presiding Bishop calls on Zambian President in Lusaka

Bishop Heward-Mills calls on Zambian President.

A delegation led by the Founder and Presiding Bishop of the United Denominations, originating from the Lighthouse Group of Churches, Bishop Dag Heward-Mills, has paid a courtesy call on the Zambian President, Hakainde Hichilema, at the State House in Lusaka, Zambia.

The renowned Ghanaian evangelist and founder of the Healing Jesus Campaign was in the company of his wife, Episcopal Sister Adelaide Heward-Mills, among other dignitaries of the church.

The courtesy call, which was broadcast live on the President’s Facebook page, came on the back of a three-day Healing Jesus Crusade held at the National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka from April 21 to April 23, 2026, highlighting strong spiritual and bilateral ties between Ghana and Zambia.

The meeting further underscored the already warm diplomatic and people-to-people relations between Ghana and Zambia.

During the State House meeting, President Hichilema thanked Bishop Heward-Mills for choosing Zambia for the evangelism outreach.

He attributed Zambia’s achievements to God’s favour and commended the bishop for his humanitarian work and the collaborative efforts of the Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia (EFZ) and the Council of Churches in Zambia (CCZ) in hosting the event.

The Zambian President referenced President John Mahama’s traditional Ghanaian fugu attire during his visit, which sparked widespread social media buzz and discussions about cultural exchange.

Bishop Heward-Mills praised President Hichilema for his openness and respect for the church, stating that God would honour the Zambian leader for his accommodating nature.

He outlined visible transformations in the country as he prayed for the President and the nation.

Bishop Heward-Mills mentioned that he had previously held crusades in several towns and cities, including Livingstone, Chingola, Kitwe, Ndola, Chililabombwe, Kabwe and Mufulira.

His earlier visits, notably a series in 2017, left a lasting impact through powerful Gospel outreaches.

Crusade

The 2026 Lusaka crusade, hosted under the banner of the Healing Jesus Campaign, continues the bishop’s long-standing ministry of massive open-air evangelistic events across Africa and beyond.

The crusade drew tens of thousands of attendees, resulting in many souls won to Christ and numerous healing miracles, consistent with the campaign’s emphasis on salvation, deliverance and the healing power of Jesus.
