Kasoa boys introduced me to drugs – Funny Face

Ghanaian comedian and actor Benson Nana Yaw Oduro Boateng, popularly known as Funny Face, has revealed that he once turned to drugs while battling depression after losing custody of his children.

Speaking in an interview on Kasapa FM, Funny Face said some young men in Kasoa introduced him to drugs during one of the most difficult periods of his life. According to him, they encouraged him to find a way to “calm down” after seeing the emotional pain he was going through.

He explained that when he asked how he could ease his pain, they suggested he try drugs—a decision he now regrets and describes as a bad habit.

Funny Face said his experience has since motivated him to speak out against drug use, especially among young people facing emotional or personal challenges. He believes that turning to drugs while going through a difficult period can make an already painful situation even worse.

The actor recalled experiencing the effects of the drugs and becoming extremely high. Today, he says he uses the lessons from that period of his life to educate and inspire others.

Funny Face has publicly faced several personal and mental health struggles over the years, particularly following relationship breakdowns and his separation from his children. His difficult experiences led to public outbursts on social media and other challenging moments in his life, which he has since used as part of his message to encourage young people to make better choices.
